Orthodontics is an amazing field, and I truly love what I do. I get to combine my scientific background with my artistic eye to create healthy, beautiful smiles. Along the way, I get to know my patients and watch them become happier, more confident people.
I completed my undergraduate degree at Northwestern University, where I studied journalism and graduated with honors. After a stint in the magazine world, I decided to change paths and pursue a career in dentistry. I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. After dental school, I completed my residency at Iowa, where I served as chief resident and earned my orthodontic certificate and Master of Science in Dentistry.
I enjoy learning as much as I can about orthodontics and think it is important to provide patients with the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatment. As part of my continuing education, I am active with the:
- American Dental Association
- American Association of Orthodontics
- Maryland State Dental Association
- Anne Arundel Dental Society
Outside the Office
Originally from Bloomington, Illinois, I currently reside in Washington, DC, with my husband, Shawn. We are having fun exploring all of DC’s neighborhoods, restaurants, and museums and enjoy staying active by running, cycling, and hiking. We also love to travel and make it back to the Midwest often to visit family.
